’60s Celebrity Photos Found In A Closet | BuzzFeed
Jack Robinson shot celebrity portraits for Vogue in the 1960s and later took up a career in stained-glass. After he passed in 1997, never-before-seen prints of a forgotten 17-year career in photography were found buried in his closet.

Joss Whedon’s first TV writing gig ever was on Roseanne, and I’ve always been interested in going back and watching his episodes. I finally did this past week, and Adam Frucci was nice enough to put the words I wrote about them up on Splitsider for everyone* to enjoy!

Nick takes on Life. This is the best letter from a child I’ve read all day:
Dear Milton Bradly,
I think your new version of Life® game is unfair.
On the board there is not one black person and you must get married to someone of the opposite sex and you can’t be gay or lesbin. ALso the girls are pink which is stereotypical for “the weaker sex” and the boy pegs are blue which is stereotypical for strengh there are many strong girls and weak boys. Also your game teaches little kids that if you have tons of money you are automaticly happy that is a lie. And you must buy a house which many people can’t afford, and you have a huge paying job. In other words your game is not really life.

Your Doug Loves Movies spoiler alert.
I would like Foley’s child, Alina on another episode… preferably with someone who has a problem with profanity. Then throw in Samm for good measure to ensure her future dreams continue to be crushed.
Kickass Kid of the Day: A Maryland-based scientist has developed an incredibly accurate mechanism for detecting pancreatic cancer, which is faster than current methods, as well as 100 times more sensitive and 28 times cheaper. Oh, and the scientist is 15 years old.
For his discovery, high school freshman Jack Andraka just won the Gordon E. Moore Award at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, which comes with a $75,000 prize.
Andraka’s method uses single-walled carbon nanotubes — which he calls “the superheroes of material science” — to detect a pancreatic cancer marker in urine and blood samples. In a blind test, it had a 100% success rate.
“I did not expect for it to be this good,” he said, “I was blown away by how sensitive it was.”

YOU HEAR YEASAYER’S GOT A NEW RECORD COMING OUT?
I GUESS I HEARD THAT SOMEWHERE, YEAH.
I MIGHT CHECK IT OUT.
I DON’T KNOW, MAN. I REALLY ONLY LIKED THEIR LIVE PERFORMANCES FOR A SPECIFIC TWELVE MINUTE SPAN BETWEEN THE RELEASE OF THEIR DEBUT RECORD AND THE FIRST TIME IT WAS REVIEWED BY AN OBSCURE WEBSITE.
I REALLY ONLY LIKED THE INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS’ ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BAND PERFORMANCES.
IF WE’RE BEING HONEST I ONLY LIKED THEM WHEN THEY WERE, RESPECTIVELY, IN UTERO.
I DON’T EVEN LIKE THEIR MUSIC. I ONLY PRETEND TO SO I HAVE SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT WITH THE BARISTAS THAT SERVE ME MY MORNING MACCHIATO.
I DISLIKED YEASAYER BEFORE THEY WERE BORN.
I FUCKING HATE THAT BAND.
I ONLY LISTEN TO THE SOUND OF RUST FORMING ON THE UNDERCARRIAGES OF NORWEGIAN LUXURY SEDANS.
I HAVE A VINTAGE RECORDABLE 90 MINUTE MAXELL CASSETTE TAPE THAT’S JUST THE SOUND OF A VACUUM CLEANER LEFT ON IN AN EMPTY APARTMENT. IT’S MY FAVORITE RECORD.
THAT SOUNDS AWESOME.
IT ISN’T NOW THAT YOU SAID THAT.
Via Reddit, a GREAT analysis of the situation.
